Christa Lechner

Management

Christa Lechner worked for many years as a nurse and teacher for nursing professions and nursing management as well as a palliative care specialist in various fields of work. She has been actively involved in hospice work for 30 years and, as managing chairperson, managed a hospice association for 10 years. After her training as a systemic family therapist she worked for 15 years as a counsellor in a psychological counselling centre for marriage, family and life issues in the diocese of Augsburg. She currently works in her own practice.

Prof. Dr. Ing. Werner Lechner

Technical information systems, programming and server operation

Werner Lechner was Professor of Information Technology at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hannover when he retired and has 25 years of experience in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining applications and software development. He realized numerous projects in the fields of speech and facial recognition and developed intelligent, autonomous 6-legged robots. Since 2007 he has been working intensively with Frank Klawonn and Lorenz Grigull to design, program and test web-based software tools to support medical diagnostics. The IOS iPad app developed by him can be downloaded from the Apple Store at ‘q53 plus ki diagnostik’.

Prof. Dr. med. Lorenz Grigull

Medical research

Lorenz Grigull has been working as a paediatrician at the Hanover Medical School for more than 20 years. His clinical focus is on the care of children with cancer. In addition, he is particularly interested in medical education and the development of diagnostic tools. Together with Frank Klawonn and Werner Lechner, he began very early to combine data mining applications with diagnostic questionnaires in order to support medical diagnostics by means of computer programs. A Master of Business Administration and a Master of Medical Education complete his expertise in medicine, economics and teaching. In January 2017 Dr. Grigull was appointed associate professor at the Hannover Medical School. Since 2020 Prof. Grigull is head of the section ‘children’ at the center for rare diseases at  the university Bonn (ZSEB).

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Frank Klawonn

Data mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence

Frank Klawonn is the head of the biostatistics group at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig and Professor for Data Analysis and Pattern Recognition at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfenbüttel. For many years, Dr. Klawonn has applied statistical methods, machine learning and visualization techniques to medical and biochemical data in particular. His particular focus is on the discovery of biomarkers.

Dr. med. Urs Mücke

Medical research

Urs Mücke is a doctor in further education at the Centre for Paediatrics and Youth Medicine. Already during his dissertation he worked on the meaningful use of digital technologies in the field of rare diseases, which was published internationally. In addition to his work in the Clinic for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (headed by Prof. Kratz), the application of digital technologies in patient care and teaching is a focal point of his research interest. Urs Mücke has been a visiting lecturer at his clinic since 2020.

Graduate business economist Martin Mayr

Software development mobile applications

With his extensive specialist knowledge in the field of innovative software development, Martin Mayr founded NeuroSys GmbH in 2015 with the aim of developing mobile applications with the help of which communication between patient and doctor’s practice can be improved and the success of the therapy and thus the therapy safety of the patients optimised.
